Chaka Khan
Chaka Khan is an American musician and singer. She's also known by her nickname of the Queen of Funk. Through her more than fifty-year career, Chaka Khan has received a total of 10 Grammys. Billboard Magazine has named her 65th among the top dance artist in history. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and introduced to jazz early on in her time by her grandma. In the early years of her career, she performed in a variety of bands. Then, she joined a group known as Rufus. When she was twenty, she released her first album together with the group. The following year, the group won the group's first Grammy. In the following years, she recorded her first album as solo artist. Through the years, she has came out with a variety of albums including "Echoes Of An Era," The Woman I am as well as Funk This. Her most well-known accomplishments include her work with charities. Chaka Khan Foundation was established to help children from poor families as well as those who have autism. Khan additionally acts as actress on occasion. She appeared as the character Sister Carrie in the show "Mama, I Want to Sing.'
